In this dramatic series, we follow three animal matriarchs as they protect their families while surviving one of the worst droughts for twenty years. Samburu is home to the Royals - an elephant family struggling to survive in the face of a landscape turning to dust. In Laikipia, wild dog matriarch Phoenix introduces five new pups to the pack but faces competition from marauding hyenas, and in Naboisho first-time cheetah mother Kuleta struggles to keep her four cubs alive in a land full of dangerous predators.

Big Cats, Small World

On the shores of Botswana’s Gomoti River, Africa’s three Big Cats have made themselves at home. This summer, as some embark on a journey to parenthood; others are nearing its end.
